With Wrestling Entertainment World (WWE), winning one championship is a career-defining moment. It represents ability, strength, and an unfettered link with the fans. Yet in 2025, a very special shift has happened: 5 Superstars are currently holding two titles, rewriting the narrative of what being dominant even looks like in professional wrestling.

  • Stephanie Vaquer: La Primera of Double Gold
  • Lyra Valkyria: Rising From NXT to the Main Roster
  • Sol Ruca & Jacy Jayne: NXT’s Double Threat
  • Dominik Mysterio: Breaking Barriers for the Men
  • The Brand Breakdown
  • My Take: Redefining Dominance

This boom of two champions hasn’t happened by accident. WWE’s strategic expansion, such as purchasing Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and a groundbreaking Developmental partnership with TNA Wrestling, has created unprecedented opportunities for cross-promotional title reigns. And as of September 15, 2025, the results prove that: A new era of champions, with women leading the charge.

Stephanie Vaquer: La Primera of Double Gold

Stephanie Vaquer was one of the first to enter this rarefied club. Known as La Primera, she captured the NXT Women’s Championship from Giulia while already holding the Women’s North American Championship. Her dominance within NXT highlights both her versatility and her ability to elevate WWE’s developmental brand to new heights.

Lyra Valkyria: Rising From NXT to the Main Roster

From the main roster, Lyra Valkyria has made history in record time. After becoming the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, she teamed with Becky Lynch to dethrone Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Lyra’s success underscores WWE’s faith in emerging talent to carry the torch at the highest level.

Sol Ruca & Jacy Jayne: NXT’s Double Threat

NXT continues to thrive as a breeding ground for champions.

  • Sol Ruca, known for her explosive athleticism, currently reigns with both the WWE Speed Championship and the Women’s North American Championship, a feat that demonstrates her growing star power.

  • Jacy Jayne has achieved something even more unique: a cross-promotional triumph, holding both the NXT Women’s Championship and the TNA Knockouts World Championship. Jayne’s success exemplifies WWE’s willingness to embrace external partnerships while showcasing its own talent.

Dominik Mysterio: Breaking Barriers for the Men

The lone male Superstar in this exclusive circle is Dominik Mysterio. At WrestleMania 41, he captured the Intercontinental Championship in a fatal four-way, then followed it up by defeating AAA’s El Hijo Del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship at Worlds Collide: Las Vegas. His dual reign is more than a personal achievement; it’s a statement that WWE talent can compete and conquer on a truly global stage.

The Brand Breakdown

Interestingly, all current dual champions are clustered on specific brands:

  • Raw: Stephanie Vaquer, Lyra Valkyria, and Dominik Mysterio.

  • NXT: Sol Ruca and Jacy Jayne.

  • SmackDown: None yet—leaving the blue brand conspicuously absent from this trend.

My Take: Redefining Dominance

The number of double champions in 2025 isn’t a coincidence, but rather a calculated evolution. WWE’s increased dealings with AAA and TNA, along with new championship(s), have served as rich soil for new stories.

Most striking is the dominance of the women’s division, with four of the five dual reigns going to female Superstars. Their ability to defend titles across multiple brands and promotions speaks to not only their athleticism but also their adaptability and star power.

For fans, this era is electric. Dual reigns mean increased stakes, unpredictable matchups, and the perception that there is a genuine sense of the championship picture in the Pokémon game. The only question left is not if more will join this elite group, but who’s next?

In 2025, to hold one championship is greatness. Two is the definition of true supremacy.
